Specialist - Software Engineer (API Developer / Platform Engineering) | Hyderabad, IN

Nationwide is seeking a Specialist - Software Engineer to build secure, scalable APIs and integration services that enable AI use-cases to access approved enterprise systems, cloud-security data, workflows, and knowledge sources. You will work in an agile environment to deliver high-quality technology solutions.

• Design, develop, test, and support RESTful APIs and backend services using Java Spring Boot or Python
• Build and manage API products, policies, authentication, authorization, traffic controls, and observability using Apigee
• Develop integrations to approved internal services, cloud platforms, data sources, and workflow systems
• Package and deploy services to Kubernetes-based environments using cloud-native configuration and autoscaling
• Implement CI with GitHub Actions and CD with Harness
• Apply API security practices including OAuth/OIDC, input validation, rate limiting, and secrets management

• Strong experience in software engineering, building backend services, or APIs
• Strong proficiency in Java with Spring Boot or Python
• Experience designing and supporting REST APIs in an enterprise environment
• Hands-on Kubernetes deployment experience, including containers, manifests or Helm
• Experience using Apigee for API development, policy configuration, and lifecycle management
• Four or more years of analysis and technology experience
• Undergraduate studies in computer science, management information systems, or related degree (or equivalent experience)
