PhonePe's Payments Infrastructure team is hiring a Senior Go Engineer to build the low-latency transaction routing and settlement systems that handle India's largest UPI payment volume.
You will own distributed services end-to-end, drive architecture decisions, and mentor a team of backend engineers working on mission-critical financial systems.
- 5+ years backend engineering with 3+ years Go (Golang)
- Expert concurrency patterns and goroutine management
- gRPC and Protocol Buffers
- PostgreSQL and Cassandra at scale
- Apache Kafka event-driven architecture
- Docker and Kubernetes in production
- Strong fintech or payments domain understanding
- Design and build high-throughput payment routing microservices in Go
- Own services from development through production monitoring
- Lead technical design reviews and architecture discussions
- Mentor junior and mid-level engineers
- Participate in on-call rotation for payment-critical services
- Drive performance optimisation to reduce P99 latency
