Lead Software Engineer - PIM

Lead the design, architecture, and delivery of Caterpillar’s Product Information Management (PIM) solutions on the Akeneo platform. Provide technical leadership, set engineering standards, and manage a team of developers while ensuring integration with enterprise systems such as MDM, ERP, e‑commerce, and AWS services.

• Lead technical design and implementation of scalable PIM solutions using Akeneo
• Translate business requirements into secure, maintainable, and scalable technical solutions aligned with enterprise architecture standards
• Define architecture patterns, integration strategies, data models, and platform roadmaps
• Conduct architecture and design reviews, ensuring performance, scalability, security, and availability
• Provide technical guidance on product data, workflow, and integration challenges
• Own the Akeneo platform, driving upgrades, release planning, and adoption of new capabilities
• Architect integrations between Akeneo and enterprise systems (MDM, SDM, DAM, ERP, e‑commerce, analytics, AWS services)
• Lead end‑to‑end delivery of Akeneo projects, guiding teams through design, development, testing, deployment, and support
• Establish monitoring, alerting, incident management, and root‑cause analysis practices for platform reliability
• Mentor and develop a team of software engineers, fostering continuous learning and technical excellence
• Identify and champion opportunities for platform expansion, AI‑driven capabilities, and digital transformation initiatives

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent experience
• 11+ years of professional software engineering experience
• 5+ years leading enterprise PIM implementations or platforms
• 3+ years of technical leadership experience with software development teams
• Strong experience with Java and/or Python development
• Proficiency in REST APIs, web services, and distributed system integrations
• Hands‑on experience in AWS cloud environments
• Deep expertise with Akeneo PIM platform architecture and administration
• Experience designing event‑driven and cloud‑native architectures
• Knowledge of CI/CD, DevOps, and Infrastructure as Code practices
