Systems/Software Engineer II (Platform diagnostics software development)

Design, develop, and maintain new features and enhancements for the Junos Evolved network operating system platform, troubleshoot and debug platform and interface software issues, collaborate with hardware engineers, QA/test teams, and cross‑functional partners, participate in code reviews and architectural discussions, and lead documentation initiatives.

• Design, develop, and maintain new features and enhancements for Junos Evolved OS.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve issues within platform, interfaces, and optics system software.
• Collaborate closely with hardware engineers, QA/test teams, and other cross‑functional partners to deliver end‑to‑end solutions.
• Participate in code reviews, contribute to architectural discussions, and lead documentation initiatives.
• Engage in initiatives that add value to product development and the organization.

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electronics, Telecommunications Engineering, or equivalent.
• Proficiency in C and C++ programming, object‑oriented analysis and design, data structures, and system debugging.
• Strong knowledge of Linux OS concepts, device drivers, kernel, and system bring‑up.
• Experience with large code bases and debugging hard system‑level issues.
• Deep understanding of hardware and system‑level design for carrier‑class software development.
• Experience with networking, embedded platform‑software development, and Ethernet interfaces (1 Gb to 800 Gb+).
• Expertise in scripting technologies and familiarity with modern DevOps practices.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
