Senior DevOps Engineer, Backend

As our first dedicated DevOps engineer at Snapfix, you'll take primary ownership of our infrastructure and delivery processes while continuing to build backend services. This is a hands-on individual contributor role, roughly 70% DevOps and 30% backend engineering, working with an international engineering team to scale operations and improve reliability.

• Assess reliability, security, deployment workflows, and costs, prioritizing and delivering improvements
• Build CI/CD pipelines, reproducible environments, and automate manual work to make releases safer
• Own hosting, networking, capacity planning, and monitoring via Datadog
• Strengthen security, access controls, secrets management, backups, and disaster recovery
• Build secure APIs, improve MySQL performance, and maintain meaningful tests and readable code
• Document runbooks, lead incident investigations, and participate in a shared on-call rotation

• 5+ years across DevOps, platform, or backend engineering with substantial hands-on responsibility for production infrastructure
• Demonstrated automation experience building CI/CD pipelines, managing infrastructure as code, and operating containers using tools like GitHub Actions, Terraform, and Docker
• Strong cloud, Linux, networking, and troubleshooting skills
• Experience building and maintaining production services in PHP, Python, or Node.js with strong SQL/MySQL skills
• Clear communication and ability to collaborate asynchronously across time zones
