Principal DevOps Engineer

Progress is seeking a Principal DevOps Engineer to lead the design, evolution, and scaling of CI/CD platforms and engineering productivity initiatives. In this role, you will drive architectural decisions, standardization, and the adoption of modern DevOps and AI practices across multiple product teams to build secure, scalable, and efficient delivery pipelines.

• Define and drive the DevOps platform strategy across CI/CD, build systems, and release engineering
• Design and implement end-to-end CI/CD pipelines for multiple product lines
• Integrate security practices (SAST, secrets management, dependency scanning) into pipelines
• Lead implementation of infrastructure-as-code using Terraform, Kubernetes, and Ansible
• Improve developer experience by reducing build times and simplifying workflows
• Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting for CI/CD systems
• Act as a technical leader and mentor for DevOps and engineering teams

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field
• 8+ years of experience in DevOps, Build Engineering, or Platform Engineering
• Deep expertise in CI/CD tools (TeamCity, Jenkins, GitHub Actions) and build systems (Gradle, Maven)
• Strong experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Proficiency in scripting and programming languages such as Python, Bash, PowerShell, or Java
