Data Engineer(Data Scientist )

Caterpillar is seeking a skilled Data Engineer / Data Scientist to join our Pricing Analytics – Enterprise Strategy - Global Financial Division Team in Chennai.

You will design and build scalable data platforms, pipelines, and cloud solutions that power pricing decisions across a global business, collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive AI-enabled outcomes.

• Build infrastructure required for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) of data from diverse sources
• Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements, automating manual workflows and optimizing data delivery
• Perform debugging, troubleshooting, modifications, and testing of integration solutions
• Operationalize developed jobs, processes, and machine learning models
• Create databases and infrastructure to process data at scale
• Automate code testing and pipelines while engaging with business partners on functional requirements

• Extensive experience in designing and developing software applications in Python
• Experience with Git version control and CI/CD tools such as Github Actions and Azure DevOps
• Experience with AWS components including Bedrock, Lambda, Fargate, S3, Sagemaker, IAM, and RDS
• Experience with relational and cloud databases such as PostgreSQL, Snowflake, and Oracle
• Strong background in data pipeline development, cloud data engineering, and data modeling
