Walk-in interviews let you meet employers the same day, without waiting for a call back. They're common for customer support, sales, BPO and some IT roles. They can also be long, crowded days, so preparation matters.
What to carry
- Several printed copies of your resume.
- A photo ID (Aadhaar, PAN or passport) and passport-size photographs.
- Copies of your marksheets and degree certificate, and experience or relieving letters if you have worked before.
- The walk-in details: date, timing, venue and contact person, and the reference name if one is given.
- Water, a snack and a charged phone. Rounds can run for hours.
How the day usually runs
- Registration and a short form.
- An aptitude or typing test, or a group discussion for some roles.
- An HR round: communication, background and availability.
- An operations or technical round with the team you'd join.
Reach early: many walk-ins close registration well before the advertised end time once enough candidates arrive.
Spotting a fake walk-in
Be careful if you're asked to pay for registration, a "kit" or training, or if the venue is a residential flat rather than an office. Genuine employers don't charge candidates.
