Flipkart's Search & Discovery team is hiring a Software Engineer to build and scale the search platform that helps 400M+ customers find products among 100M+ listings in milliseconds.
You will work on Elasticsearch, ML ranking models, and query understanding systems that make Flipkart search as fast and relevant as possible.
- 3–6 years software engineering
- Expert Elasticsearch or Apache Solr
- Java or Scala backend development
- Apache Spark for offline ranking pipelines
- ML ranking models: LambdaMART, BERT re-ranking
- Kafka for real-time index updates
- Strong algorithms and data structures
- Build and scale Flipkart's Elasticsearch search platform
- Develop ML-based ranking and relevance improvements
- Build query understanding and spell-correction pipelines
- Reduce search P99 latency
- Run A/B experiments to improve conversion from search
- Maintain and improve search index freshness pipelines
