Microsoft India is hiring an SDET (Software Development Engineer in Test) for its Azure cloud services team in Hyderabad. You will build automated testing infrastructure that validates the quality and reliability of Azure services at massive scale.
The role blends software engineering with quality engineering — you will write production-grade test frameworks, not just test scripts. This is a high-impact role in a team that ships updates to Azure services used by millions of customers globally.
- Design and implement distributed test automation frameworks for Azure services
- Build testing tools used by engineers across the organization
- Analyze test failures and drive root cause analysis
- 3-6 years of SDET or test automation engineering experience
- Strong programming skills in C# or Python
- Experience with cloud testing at scale on Azure, AWS, or GCP
- Knowledge of distributed systems testing principles
- Experience with test framework design (not just test script writing)
- Familiarity with CI/CD systems (GitHub Actions, Azure Pipelines)
- Design and implement automated testing frameworks for Azure services
- Build test infrastructure supporting continuous delivery pipelines
- Develop tools for load testing and chaos engineering
- Collaborate with engineering teams to improve testability
- Drive test strategy discussions for new feature development
