Nutanix India is hiring a Senior Software Engineer for its distributed systems team building the storage and virtualization layer of Nutanix's hyperconverged infrastructure platform. You will work on one of the most complex distributed systems in enterprise technology — a system managing petabytes of data for thousands of enterprises worldwide.
The role requires deep knowledge of distributed storage systems, consensus protocols, and systems programming. You will work alongside top systems engineers from IITs and top global universities.
- Design and implement distributed storage features for the Nutanix AOS platform
- Work on consensus protocols, data replication, and fault tolerance mechanisms
- Optimize storage I/O performance for enterprise workloads
- 6-10 years of systems/distributed systems engineering experience
- Expert C++ or Go skills for systems programming
- Deep understanding of distributed consensus (Raft, Paxos) and replication
- Experience with storage systems (file systems, block storage, or object storage)
- Strong debugging and performance optimization skills
- Knowledge of Linux kernel internals and hardware I/O stack is a plus
- Design and implement core distributed storage features
- Write high-performance, memory-safe C++ or Go code for storage systems
- Lead technical design discussions for complex storage features
- Debug complex distributed system failures in development and production
- Mentor junior engineers on distributed systems principles
