Couchbase India is hiring a Senior QA Engineer to build and execute automated test frameworks for Couchbase's distributed NoSQL database product. You will design test strategies covering correctness, performance, and fault tolerance for database engine components used by enterprise customers globally.
This is a highly technical QA role — you need strong programming skills, deep understanding of distributed systems, and the ability to design test scenarios for complex failure modes in distributed databases.
- Design and implement automated test frameworks for distributed database scenarios
- Build tests covering replication, failover, network partitions, and data consistency
- Run performance and stress tests to validate database throughput and latency
- 4-7 years of QA engineering experience with distributed or database systems
- Strong programming skills in Python or Java
- Experience testing distributed systems (databases, message queues, or storage systems)
- Understanding of database concepts: ACID, consistency models, replication
- Familiarity with Kubernetes for running distributed test clusters
- Experience with performance testing and benchmarking tools
- Design comprehensive test strategies for Couchbase database features
- Implement automated tests for correctness, performance, and reliability
- Simulate and test distributed failure scenarios (split brain, failover)
- Contribute to CI/CD pipeline integration for automated test execution
- File detailed bug reports and work with engineering to resolve defects
