Swiggy's Data Platform team is hiring a Senior Data Engineer to build the Databricks lakehouse powering personalisation, pricing, and delivery ETA models for 10M+ daily food and grocery orders.
- 4–7 years data engineering with 2+ years Databricks
- Databricks: Delta Live Tables, Unity Catalog, and MLflow
- PySpark and Spark Structured Streaming
- Apache Kafka for real-time event ingestion
- dbt for data modelling on Delta Lake
- AWS: S3, Glue, and Kinesis
- Strong Python and SQL
- Build Delta Live Tables pipelines for food delivery analytics
- Design Unity Catalog governance for Swiggy data assets
- Implement Kafka-to-Delta streaming pipelines for real-time features
- Build dbt semantic layer for business reporting
- Mentor junior data engineers on Databricks best practices
- Optimise Databricks cluster costs through auto-scaling and spot strategy
