ShareChat is hiring a Senior Backend Engineer with strong Java/Spring expertise to work on its content discovery and social graph infrastructure. You will help build systems that serve 300+ million users consuming short videos, memes, and social content in 15 Indian languages.
The role demands deep experience with distributed systems, large-scale data processing, and high-concurrency services. You will have end-to-end ownership of backend services from design to production monitoring.
- Design and build high-throughput Java microservices for content delivery
- Architect social graph storage and traversal at massive scale
- Optimize feed generation algorithms for personalization
- 5-8 years of backend engineering with Java and Spring Boot
- Deep understanding of distributed systems and CAP theorem
- Experience with large-scale caching (Redis, Memcached)
- Knowledge of data streaming platforms (Kafka)
- Experience with graph databases (Neo4j) is a plus
- Strong understanding of database sharding and replication strategies
- Design and implement scalable microservices for social features
- Lead technical design reviews for new product features
- Optimize service performance and database query efficiency
- Participate in on-call rotations and incident management
- Mentor junior engineers and conduct code reviews
