Ola's Data Science team is hiring a Principal Data Scientist to lead dynamic pricing and demand forecasting models that determine fares for millions of rides daily across 250+ Indian cities.
You will define the scientific roadmap for pricing, manage a team of 5 data scientists, and influence pricing strategy at the board level through data-driven insights.
- 8+ years data science with 3+ years senior/principal level
- Expert pricing models, demand forecasting, and causal inference
- Python, R, and large-scale Spark data processing
- Reinforcement learning and contextual bandits experience
- Strong ability to influence non-technical C-suite stakeholders
- PhD in Statistics, Operations Research, or CS preferred
- Define and lead pricing ML research agenda
- Build and deploy dynamic surge pricing and demand forecasting models
- Manage and mentor a team of 5 data scientists
- Present pricing strategy insights to CEO and leadership
- Collaborate with product and operations on pricing experiments
- Ensure model fairness and regulatory compliance
