PhonePe is hiring a Data Engineer to build the analytics data platform processing 5B+ monthly UPI transaction events — powering fraud intelligence, payment personalisation, and merchant analytics for India's largest digital payments platform.

4–6 years data engineering experience in fintech or high-traffic consumer tech
Apache Spark and PySpark for 5B+ monthly payment transaction data
Kafka for real-time UPI and payment event streaming
AWS: S3, Kinesis, Redshift, and Glue at hyperscale
dbt for payment analytics data modelling
Python and strong SQL for financial transaction data

Build Spark batch pipelines for UPI transaction and merchant analytics
Develop Kafka streaming pipelines for real-time fraud intelligence signals
Design Redshift data warehouse for payment and financial product analytics
Implement data quality monitoring for payment transaction data accuracy
Collaborate with data scientists on fraud and personalisation ML feature pipelines
Monitor pipeline SLAs for payment data freshness at hyperscale
