Lendingkart is hiring a Junior Data Scientist to join its credit analytics team. You will assist in building credit scoring models, risk segmentation algorithms, and default prediction models for MSME lending. This is an excellent early-career opportunity to gain deep experience in financial risk modeling at a fast-growing fintech startup.
You will be mentored by senior data scientists and work with real credit bureau data, GST data, and alternative data sources to build models that directly influence lending decisions for small businesses.
- Build credit risk models using logistic regression, decision trees, and gradient boosting
- Analyze borrower data from credit bureaus, GST, and bank statements
- Support model monitoring and scorecard recalibration
- 0-2 years of data science experience (strong final-year projects accepted)
- Strong Python skills with scikit-learn, pandas, and matplotlib
- Good understanding of statistics and supervised ML algorithms
- Proficiency in SQL for data extraction
- Knowledge of credit risk modeling or financial services is a plus
- M.Sc./M.Tech in Statistics, CS, or related field preferred
- Build and evaluate credit scoring models under senior guidance
- Analyze and process large datasets from credit bureaus and internal systems
- Monitor deployed models for performance drift
- Present model insights to credit team stakeholders
- Write Python scripts for feature engineering automation
