Ather Energy is hiring an Embedded Systems Engineer to work on the software powering its next-generation electric scooters. You will develop firmware for motor controllers, battery management systems, and the Ather connected dashboard that millions of riders interact with every day.
This is a rare opportunity to work at the intersection of hardware and software on India's most advanced electric vehicles. You will have end-to-end ownership of firmware modules from design to validation to OTA updates in the field.
- Develop RTOS-based firmware for motor control and battery management
- Implement communication protocols (CAN, LIN, SPI, I2C, UART)
- Write and optimize embedded C code for STM32 and Qualcomm platforms
- 2-5 years of embedded software development experience
- Strong embedded C programming skills on ARM Cortex-M microcontrollers
- Experience with RTOS (FreeRTOS, ThreadX, or Zephyr)
- Knowledge of automotive communication protocols (CAN, CAN-FD, LIN)
- Hands-on experience with oscilloscopes and logic analyzers for debugging
- Experience with BMS or motor control firmware is a strong advantage
- Design and implement firmware modules for EV subsystems
- Develop hardware abstraction layers for new microcontroller platforms
- Write unit tests and HIL (Hardware-in-Loop) tests for firmware
- Debug and resolve firmware issues in development and production vehicles
- Collaborate with hardware design teams on component selection
