Tata Communications is hiring an Embedded Engineer to build the firmware and middleware for enterprise IoT gateways that connect factories, smart cities, and logistics fleets to Tata Communications' global connectivity platform.
- 3–5 years embedded Linux software development
- Embedded Linux: Yocto Project and Buildroot
- C and Python for embedded application development
- MQTT, CoAP, and LwM2M IoT protocols
- Cellular modem management: AT commands and ModemManager
- OTA firmware update implementation for IoT devices
- Build firmware features for Tata Communications IoT gateway platform
- Implement MQTT and LwM2M protocol stacks for device management
- Develop cellular modem failover and connectivity management
- Build OTA update manager for 100,000+ field-deployed IoT gateways
- Test firmware on hardware validation bench
- Write embedded unit tests using CppUTest or Unity
