DevOps Engineer, Kafka - reputed company at reputed company 100% Remote

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Senior Kafka Administrator with a strong DevOps background to join our IT operations team. You will be responsible for the deployment, configuration, maintenance, and monitoring of our Kafka clusters, ensuring high availability, reliability, and optimal performance of our real-time data platforms.

• Deploy and configure Kafka clusters following best practices for scalability, security, and performance
• Implement monitoring and alerting solutions to proactively identify and address performance bottlenecks and resource constraints
• Design and implement high-availability strategies, failover mechanisms, and disaster recovery plans
• Implement and manage security measures such as encryption, authentication, and authorization
• Diagnose and resolve Kafka-related issues, including performance degradation and connectivity problems

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience)
• 5+ years of hands-on experience administering Apache Kafka clusters in production environments
• Strong understanding of Kafka internals, architecture, installation, configuration, and tuning
• Strong DevOps background with knowledge of Linux systems, Kubernetes, and Docker
• Experience with Kafka ecosystem tools such as Kafka Connect, Kafka Streams, and Schema Registry
