Join Intuit as a Staff Software Engineer on the QuickBooks Workforce Solutions team. In this role, you will lead cross-team initiatives, act as a technical subject matter expert, mentor fellow engineers, and spend roughly 60% of your time on hands-on coding to deliver cutting-edge capabilities for enterprise-class web applications.
- Foster collaboration outside the organization, leading cross-team initiatives and engagements with external partners, clients, or industry groups
- Take the lead in driving cross-team initiatives, leveraging technical expertise and leadership to foster cooperation
- Lead the gathering of functional requirements, developing technical specifications, and project & test planning
- Act as the technical subject matter expert: mentor fellow engineers, demonstrate technical expertise, and lead a small team solving challenging programming and design problems (roughly 60% hands-on coding)
- Build effective internal and external relationships essential to delivering a quality software product or service
- Stay aware of industry trends and make technology choices and strategic decisions
- Generate technical documentation and presentations to communicate architectural and design options
- BS/MS in Computer Science or related area or equivalent experience
- 10+ years total experience delivering enterprise class web applications
- 5+ years of experience in design and implementation of robust and highly scalable services
- Practical experience in microservices & messaging technologies (REST, GraphQL, Kubernetes, Kafka, ActiveMQ)
- Solid foundation in writing scalable web application code following best practices of accessibility, internationalization, and instrumentation
- 5+ years of JavaScript application design and testing experience
- 7+ years of experience in mid-tier technologies like Node and Java
- Experience with test automation, including TDD and unit/integration/functional testing
- Experience with Relational Database Design and Implementation
- Experience in UI frameworks like React, Backbone, and Angular
