Urban Company is looking for a skilled Backend Developer (Node.js) to build and scale the APIs and services that power India's largest home services platform. You will work on service booking, partner management, and dynamic pricing systems used by millions of customers and 50,000+ service professionals.
The team moves fast, ships frequently, and values ownership. You will have significant autonomy to design and implement features end-to-end in a mature microservices environment.
- Build RESTful APIs for the Urban Company consumer and partner apps
- Develop booking, scheduling, and partner-customer matching services
- Maintain data consistency across distributed microservices
- 2-5 years of Node.js backend development experience
- Strong proficiency in TypeScript and Express.js or NestJS
- Experience with MongoDB and PostgreSQL
- Knowledge of Redis for caching and real-time data
- Familiarity with message queuing systems (RabbitMQ or SQS)
- Experience with Docker and cloud deployment
- Design and implement Node.js microservices for Urban Company's platform
- Build RESTful and GraphQL APIs consumed by mobile and web clients
- Optimize service performance and database query efficiency
- Participate in on-call rotations and incident response
- Write comprehensive unit and integration tests
