Microsoft India Research is hiring an AI Research Scientist to conduct fundamental and applied research in NLP and large language models for global Microsoft products including Azure OpenAI, Copilot, and Microsoft 365.
You will publish at NeurIPS, ICML, and ACL, and transfer research outcomes to products used by a billion users worldwide.
- PhD in CS, AI, or Statistics preferred
- 5+ years ML or AI research experience
- Expert PyTorch and transformer model architecture
- Publications at NeurIPS, ICML, ACL, EMNLP, or CVPR
- Experience with large-scale model pre-training or fine-tuning
- Strong collaborative research and communication skills
- Conduct original research in NLP and generative AI
- Publish at top-tier AI/ML conferences
- Transfer research to Azure AI and Microsoft 365 product teams
- Mentor junior researchers and interns
- Represent Microsoft Research at academic conferences
