About the Role
Our job recommendations are still mostly hand-tuned weights: skills count this much, experience that much, location a bit. It got us here, but we now have enough applications and shortlists to learn the ranking from real behaviour. We're hiring an ML engineer to make that move carefully, without hurting the people the current system already serves well.
You'd build the features, train and ship the first learned ranker, and set up the guardrails that let us change ranking safely every week after.
What You'll Do
- Design features from job, profile and behaviour data
- Train, evaluate and serve a learning-to-rank model for recommendations and search
- Run controlled experiments and read the results honestly
- Watch for bias: freshers, smaller cities and career switchers shouldn't lose out
What You'll Need
- 4+ years shipping ML systems to production, ideally ranking or recommendations
- Comfortable owning the whole loop from data to serving
- Experience running and analysing A/B tests
- Clear thinking about fairness and unintended effects of ranking changes
